Amara at Trident Hyderabad is hosting a ‘Classics of The World’ food festival to showcase the traditional, culinary favourites from different corners of the world. Amara is known for periodically hosting food festivals that lend an additional dimension to its global cuisine buffet spread. The ‘Classics of The World’ festival, which will continue until 15th April, is offering up some of the most well-known and loved dishes.
The festival is using rotating menus, so there are different dishes on offer in each meal. I received a dinner invitation for the third day of the festival. The spread was loaded with comfort food of all kinds. Navarin du Agneau, a classic French stew of slow cooked mutton and vegetables, is a hearty meal in itself, but I enjoyed pairing it with a spoonful of steamed rice. Pommes Anna, another French classic, is not for the faint-hearted. Layers of sliced potato are cooked in generous amounts of butter. Crunchy Fish and Chips with tartar sauce were being dished out from the live counters in paper cones reminiscent of street vendors. My favourites of the night were the Poisson-a-la-normande (Sole in a creamy and buttery sauce) and Bacon and Onion Tarts. Massaman Curry from Thailand, Pork Schnitzels from Germany, and the Beef Wellington from England were also a part of the spread. Desserts included Pavlova, St. Clements Pie, and French Apple Tart.
The ‘Classics of the World’ promotion will continue until April 15 and is a part of the regular Amara buffet spread (Rs. 1638, all inclusive).
