Eatbliss is a new home delivery start-up based out of Hyderabad that’s promising to deliver healthy, comfort food. They have a limited rotating menu for lunch and dinner, that you can book up to a day in advance. The current delivery window is 12 PM to 10 PM, and you need to place your orders at least an hour in advance. Unlike most other food startups, Eatbliss is currently not available in the Cyberabad region. There are plans to expand the deliver to regions like Madhapur and Hi-Tec City, but currently delivery is limited to Secunderabad, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Ameerpet, and Panjagutta.

Eatbliss only offers a handful of options for every meal, but the dishes are changed for every meal. The options include different variants of parathas and rice. Last week, Eatbliss sent me a sample of their dinner menu. I received a plate of Laccha Paratha, Gobi Paratha, Jeera Garlic Rice, and Khichdi. All of the dishes were neatly packed in plastic trays and containers that reminded me of Faasos.

The Parathas served by Eatbliss were made from whole wheat, and were a departure from the greasy parathas served in most joints in the city. I would have loved a little bit more stuffing in my Gobi parathas, but I was happy to eat such homely parathas after a long time. Each plate of paratha was served with a portion of Salad, Raita, and Black Eyed Beans Curry. I loved the beans curry, which was once again low on oil and masala, but delicious.

The jeera in the Jeera Garlic Rice was slightly burnt, but the Jeera Garlic rice still impressed. This will be a fabulous dish – enhanced by the wonderful flavour of the garlic, when done right. The Vegetable Khichdi was decent, but very different from what I’d typically expect from a Khichdi. I’d love to have the authentic Daal Khichdi, but I was told that the recipe was tweaked as the wet version doesn’t very good unless it’s served piping hot.

All the dishes served by Eatbliss are priced between Rs. 90 and Rs. 160, and can be directly ordered from www.eatbliss.com. It’s a good option for bachelors looking for homely, comfort meals, as well as working professionals wanting a tasty and healthy lunch. I was informed that subscription services and expansion of delivery areas are in the pipeline.
