Sheraton Hyderabad’s new Beer, Burgers, and Barbeque festival brings my favourite three B’s together. The festival is being hosted at Feast – Sheraton’s all day dining cafe. Burger and BBQ live stations have been added to the already formidable Sheraton buffet spread.
The Burger counter offers a choice of 4 vegetarian and 5 non-vegetarian burgers. The burgers are around about the size of a quarter pounder – not huge, but not exactly small. Unless you have a ginormous appetite, it’ll difficult to try out more than two or three flavours on your own. Going with your friends and sharing the burgers would be a smart choice. My favourites were the Pulled Pork and Nimazi Lamb burgers. Chicken lovers also have the option of Fried Chicken Burger and Chicken Chettinadu Burger. Veg options include Traditional Vegetable and Avocado Burger, Spicy Aaloo Tikki and Falafel Burger with Hummus and Garlic Mayo.
The BBQ counter offers an array of vegetable skewers and meats along with a choice of marinades and sauces. Take your pick and the chef will send your BBQ over to your table in a few minutes. Among the sauces the Red Wine sauce (best paired with meat or chicken) and Butter Garlic sauce (amazing with grilled prawns or fish) were quite impressive. As you might expect from a Bong, it’s the fish that made a mark. The grilled pomfret was an absolute treat!
Besides the Burgers and BBQ there’s the regular buffet spread, which also seems to have a slightly augmented continental options in various sauces that would go well with the grills. During the festival, you are also get a pint of beer with the buffet. I didn’t have a lot of space in my tummy for the desserts. But on Chef’s recommendation I did try the Blueberry Cheesecake and Mango Pannacotta. The Baked Philly Cheesecake was absolutely yum and reminded me of the old Jonathan’s Kitchen Cheesecake. The Pannacotta was the perfect summer dessert – light, midly sweet, and topped with Mangoes.
The Beer, Burgers, and Barbeque festival is on till the 26th. The buffet is priced at Rs. 1745 (all-inclusive).
